I've upgraded my RAM today from 8GB to 16GB, and all sticks are identical.
But since i've upgraded Windows starts acting weird by closing apps randomly with no warning when it's not even using 40% of RAM.
With 8gb it worked fine before.

Also some video games won't boot properly anymore.

Solution
CPU:Ryzen 2700X
Motherboard:Gigabyte Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming
Ram: Kingston HyperX 8GB 2666-15 Fury Black (2 Sets/ 4 sticks of 4GB)
SSD/HDD: Samsung Evo 860 250gb
GPU:MSI GTX 1070
PSU: Be Quiet Pure Power 10 700W
Chassis: Thermaltake View 71
OS: Windows 10 Home

Ram sticks link (dutch):
https://www.alternate.nl/HyperX/8-GB-DDR4-2666-Kit-werkgeheugen/html/product/1219040
Updated my BIOS to latest version

And it just happens when i use multiple programs.

When i play games (Monster Hunter/Ghost Recon Wildlands) and Chrome is open in the background, then it closes chrome. And also the other way around.
As if it doesn't have enough RAM. But it does detect 16GB

EDIT: Google Chrome tabs seem to crash randomly

1| Just to double check can you pass on a pick/link to the ram sticks/kit used?
2| Are you on the latest BIOS for your platform/motherboard?
3| Can you please pass on your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

What apps are you experiencing the issue with? Is it for all apps you have opened up?

does it work the way it was configured before, with one stick? You did not use matched pairs, and even though they may be the same speed and manufacter, if they are not purchased in a pair, they may not be usable together. Try the original in the original slot., then power down and try the new one in that slot. if they both work, they may not work together because not matched

Not entirely true. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. What you did is your best chance of it working, BUT Somewhere along the line for example Kingston maybe switches from Micron to SK Hynix memory. Identical product, but different. Thats why ram should always be bought in matched sets.

I agree with testing with only the new memory installed and then the old. Also download memtest86 and test all the ram. if any errors you have a bad stick somewhere.
