HI , i have the Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2400 which is single ranked, and i want to buy Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (16GBx1) DDR4 2400 which is dual ranked , now it's okay to buy it ? dose the the difference between the RAM rank will cause Problems ? and thanks

Solution
the motherboard determines this. look at the manual and see what it says about how the slots can be populated.

the double ranked use more power and therefore limit how many and at what speeds can be used. they won't cause trouble if the motherboard can handle all the sticks being installed at once. should all be in the motherboard manual
