GPU Cutting Out

While playing games, very rarely though, my GPU will just cut out entirely killing the game (the light and fans turn off) followed by a windows notification sound. The only way to get it to work again it take it off and put it back on the motherboard till it decides to work. When windows runs again it says windows display drivers failed and is launching default drivers. Is there a fix to this other than buy a new GPU?

It might be a GPU problem or a driver problem. If its a driver problem, you just reinstall them, if its a GPU problem tho... You might wanna open your wallet because you are buying a new GPU. It might also be a windows problem although I doubt it, but I'd reinstall my windows as well just in case
