Is 8600k hotter than 8700k?

Solution
I have had both CPU's having recently sold my 8600k for the 8700K, personally there was very little difference between the two in terms of overclocking as both reached 5GHz though the 8700K needed a bit more vcore for the 5GHz and and both ran at 4.9GHz (my go to 24/7 use) with no issues...both non-delidded. Temps were not an issue though as I am running a fairly hefty 360 AIO..

With regards to performance and higher overclocks, less stress due to cut down threads putting less heat load?...I am positive others here will have a better answer to this.

Considering the 8600K doesn't have the extra threads it may overclock slightly higher but when it comes to overclocking silicon lottery is key. You could literally have ten 8600K's or ten 8700K's and overclock them using the same motherboard and cooler and get different results (speed/temps/voltage).

Both of them with a good motherboard and cooling should achieve at least 4.9ghz.
