PC turning itself off whilst gaming

Hi all

I've recently encountered a problem with my PC, which seems to be a major issue. About 4 days ago i installed a 2TB hard drive to accompany my SSD, as i needed more storage for games. The installation went well, but over the past 3 days my PC has been shutting off when gaming. Today it has been the worst, shutting off 3 times in the space of a half hour.

I attempted to troubleshoot this issue myself: Firstly i restarted my PC multiple times, then analysed my CPU core temps under maximum load. I can tell you with relative certainty that this is not a CPU issue. I think it is a problem with the PSU or perhaps the motherboard, but i am by no means an expert.

The only components I altered when installing my new HDD were my GPU (i moved it to a seperate PCIE slot) and my PSU, by adding a new SATA power cable. Can someone who is more knowledgeable about power supplys and troubleshooting please help me with this, I don't want to call in a technician only to find out its a simple fix.

thanks

sorry, I should've specified. It is an EVGA Supernova 650 G2

I should list the rest of my specs too:
i7 7700k
1080ti 11GB
16GB RAM
500GB SSD
2TB HDD

that should be everything that's relevant. Also i don't see why the molex issue is relevant? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by it, could you clarify? Btw both my SSD and HDD work perfectly fine

No, my PSU has multiple sata ports, sorry for the confusion. Is there anything you could help me with regarding my original question?
