Hi all
I've recently encountered a problem with my PC, which seems to be a major issue. About 4 days ago i installed a 2TB hard drive to accompany my SSD, as i needed more storage for games. The installation went well, but over the past 3 days my PC has been shutting off when gaming. Today it has been the worst, shutting off 3 times in the space of a half hour.
I attempted to troubleshoot this issue myself: Firstly i restarted my PC multiple times, then analysed my CPU core temps under maximum load. I can tell you with relative certainty that this is not a CPU issue. I think it is a problem with the PSU or perhaps the motherboard, but i am by no means an expert.
The only components I altered when installing my new HDD were my GPU (i moved it to a seperate PCIE slot) and my PSU, by adding a new SATA power cable. Can someone who is more knowledgeable about power supplys and troubleshooting please help me with this, I don't want to call in a technician only to find out its a simple fix.
thanks
