See how much wattage it makes on the 12v rail or rails. It will be written on the power supply's label. Or just tell me the make and model of the power supply and I will look it up. Even if it does make a decent amount of wattage on the 12v rail, if it is some generic low quality psu I would be nervous hooking it up to a system with a nearly 400 dollar CPU in it, not to mention the other parts.

Is this it in the link below? If so it makes 260watts on the 12v rail, which is horrible, I would say it's false advertising to even call that a 500watt psu. I'm sure the quality of components is horrible as well. I would never use that PSU in one of my systems, I would certainly recommend something better for an 8700k system.

550w will run just about any single gpu, 650w will run any single gpu and leave headroom for some overclocking.
