Hello,
Mobo is ASUS m5a97 r2.0 (1 year old maybe)
Basically I've been using a USB2.0 to Ethernet adapter for internet for a while and I recently beefed up my internet plan but my motherboard is kind of old and has a lot of things connected to USB. Maybe too many, which is causing them to disconnect and reconnect when I put too much strain on it. Like if I try streaming.
My ethernet port has not worked for a while. Does not show up in device manager, does not show any link lights when ethernet is plugged in. Tried installing a driver for it but got this error: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable"
Researched some solutions and tried turning off, removing the ram, waiting 30 minutes and putting them back in. I wouldn't think the BIOS settings would be affecting the adapter and if it was that then that fix should've corrected it. I have an onboard ethernet adapter, not a PCI/PCIe one. I do have a PCI wireless adapter, an Archer T9E which shows up in the device manager and works correctly.
I don't think I have any realtek drivers on my computer but I don't even know how to check or where to start to fix this. Would it disable my ethernet adapter if I had a wireless adapter plugged into a PCI slot?
Thank you for the help, let me know if I can provide anything extra.
