Only plan to run one video card, I have x470 doesn't seem worth the premium to me.

I'm assuming by 'not worth it' your interests exclude superior audio, high-end LAN ports, high phase count VRM's, trouble code displays, on-board power switches and the other gilding that come exclusively in X470 board family.

Even so, it can still depend on the use-case for your motherboard but the B450 Tomahawk has been very well received for it's cool running VRM while letting a 2700X stretch it's legs. It also has pretty good audio, 2 x 3.1 gen2 USB, one ty. C, and two M.2, although only one is PCIEx4 gen 3. A step up will find the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC but that has some features...

I especially like the Flash-Back feature on all of MSI's offerings. It's apparent to me they don't want to have any trouble clearing inventory when Zen2 comes out.
