Hey, I've been scrapping my $200 plus phanteks case & I got extra switches, LED on/off toggle, a fan hub, Power, Reset SW etc.

I bought a smaller rig this time same company Phanteks.
I already have a fan hub on it, it's the same one actually.. But I'v been getting into this build plus I like building other computers & messing around. I can splice wires mix & match connectors, but I don't really know if these switches can do anything other then they are meant for..
I can't get myself to throw them out so what do you think I might be able to use them for?

Thanks in advance for the Read/Reply

anything that needs a momentary switch can use these. you could wire them in series so you would need to press 2 (both) buttons at the same time to turn on the system. handy with kids, they can try one button all day.
my power switch is a magnetic reed switch and you need to wave a magnet in the right place on my desk to turn on the PC.
I was bored.

its an alarm sensor.

I extended the lead wires and connected to the power switch plug to plug into the motherboard.
drilled a hole in the bottom of my desk and mounted the switch in the hole.

I installed security systems for a time and found a few of these in my tool bag. they were screaming for a use.
I use a magnet to turn on my pc by waving the magnet across the right spot on my desk. leaving the magnet on the switch forces a hard reset just like keeping the power button pressed

the circuit is always open and the magnet closes it turning on the PC

there for a while I had the magnet inside my mouse, so you had to move the mouse to the right spot on the desk.
its funny watching your brother waving the mouse around like its a wand trying to turn on your pc.
I also wired the power switch in the PC to the case LEDS, so people just think my system is broken when they try to turn it on, LEDS light up but nothing at all else happens

updated the link the first was Normally closed switches you need Normally open switches for power
