Refresh rate reset mid game from 144hz to 60hz

Hi all!

I just got myself a nice monitor 144hz (asus mg279)
I have an nvidia EVGA 1080 gtx
polugged into a display port (directly not passing trough DVI or something)
I formated my PC. installed drivers then overwatch. I can see in my monitor setting that the monitor is at 144. anmd on the control panel from nvidia too.
mid game the screen goes briefly to black and switch to 60 opr 120! depending on tis mood.
freesyc is disabled
i have set my power to high performance
I use windows 10 pro

yup! triend the 2 display port on my video card. triend OW and MH both doing the same issue

maybe its the display port on my video card that are broken. before i got that monitor i used HDMI. i tried mini DP and DP too both doing some weird black flashing on boot and then switch the refresh rate.

HDMI on other hand work nicely, tried on another monitor (60hz) black screen flash on DP but HDMI is ok :s
