Broken PSU damaging my pc

I just got my brand new psu some days ago, it was the Corsair TX750M witch is supposed to be a really high quality power supply. I have probably watched a hundred YouTube videos on how to install and connect all wires to mother board and gpu and all those things, I probably double checked 3 times to make sure that everything was in place and was securely connected, I even read the manual for all my parts.
When i was done making sure everything was as it should be I made sure to put the psu switch at the back of the psu to off. When I plugged the power cord to the psu it immediately gave power to the system even though I had turned it off, it even made a really loud high pitched noice.
But the psu only made the motherboard led light up, and the only fan that was spinning was the cpu fan, there was no signal given to my screen either.
I decided to take my gpu and my hard drives back into my old pc to see if anything was damaged ( my old pc worked perfectly fine before)
When I tried turning my old pc back on it gave me ERROR CODE 0xc0000034 and The boot configuration data file is missing some required information.

So I’m wondering what that message means, how do I fix it

What do I do if my psu has broken my pc, do I go to the store I bought the psu from and ask for a new pc?

Thank you for helping me!

1| You might want to start by listing your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

It grants us an insight as to what could be wrong.

2| Since you're on a new PSU, what was your prior unit and how old was it?

3| With everything connected to your new system, does the system boot to GUI? At the very least, can you get to BIOS?

4|
...do I go to the store I bought the psu from and ask for a new pc?
Unfortunately it's not that simple...you can't just claim something only to be proven wrong. It ruins your image for subsequent purchases. We need to verify who the culprit is before you can point a finger.
