So I just overclocked cpu for the first time,so I just wanna know did I forget anything, did I do something wrong.
I overclocked it in BIOS to 3,8 GHz,Voltage is at 1,35,I also bumped the RAM to its true speed of 3000MHz
Basically everything else is set to auto.
I have been running Prime95 for almost 2 hours right now,no errors.
The highest temp I got is 80℃ (using air cooling,Gammaxx GT)
So my question is,is this it?
Do I need to do any other tests or some other finer tunning?

Solution

At least 3.9G or don't overclock at all...just concentrate on getting better cooling and as low a temp as possible (by undervolting) so it XFR's as high as it can, as long as it can. That IS a decent strategy for 'X' CPU's, BTW. But if it were me I'd go for 4.0G as that motherboard is capable for holding it all day long with Prime95/smallFFT's.

Since you have HWInfo: if you're sure you are reading the Tdie temperature, not Tctrl, then 80C seems hot to me for only 3.8G. You may need better cooling. And is the core voltage you're reading the STI2/TFN voltage? 1.35 isn't bad, but it may be high: my 1700 at 3.925G is...
1700x CPU XFR's to 3.9Ghz, so you're giving up 100Mhz of performance for that all-core overclock. What motherboard are you using?

At 3.8/1.35 you should be able to see temps of 70 or under. You might be reading an uncorrected CPU temperature: the true core temp of an 'X' CPU is 20C cooler than reported.

Also, how are you reading voltage? Get HWInfo64 and look at STI2/TFN Core Voltage it's the only correct one. It also gives you the corrected core temperature: Tdie.

I'm sure it will have some decent LLC control to help with voltage control to use the lowest voltage possible to keep it stable in 4.0-4.1Gig. But probably not before you get better cooling for that CPU.
