Hello,

Im looking to upgrade my pc and i was looking to get a gtx 1060 for my pc and a fx 8350 for christmas, but I don't think i have enough money to go through a new motherboard a ram since I bought this pc as a prebuilt. If there are any other upgrade ideas let me know. (I live in Canada)

Motherboard: 760gma-p34 (fx)
Case: NXZT ibuypower 210
Power Supply: 400watts (Im sure)
current GFX card: rx 460 2gb
current CPU: Fx 4300

Solution
what i would do is ask people that are going to give you gifts to give you newegg or amazon gift cards. you can then use them for pc parts. I would also keep an eye out for black friday /cyber monday deals in the next 90 days. one trick you can also do is look in your local paper for biz that are tossing out there old pc or selling them to raise money for local charities. you may be able to pick up a newer intel system for a little bit of money. then reuse your gpu that working till you can get a newer gaming card.

I have been/am in your shoes right now. If you are stuck with the am3 cpu slot, then yeah the 8350 would be the way to go. It does have better overall performance by about 25%, but you will only see around 10% better performance in single core programs/applications.

The 1060 would be a great increase in performance, and has a slightly higher power draw than the rx, as does the 8350 over the 4300. It is a might possibility that you might need a better power supply
