I've been helping a friend build a new computer. I had an old MSI z170 SlI Plus that was originally for a previous upgrade that I didn't use. Right now his budget was really low so just to get something up and running he picked out a Intel Celeron G4920 processor for less that 100$ to use with this mobo. I also had 2 spare Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB sticks lying around not really knowing if they would work or not. From what I have found is that this CPU is only compatible with DDR 2400 (These sticks are 3000) Right now when I try to boot the computer I don't get any output to my monitor.

My question is - Are these two sticks of ram compatible or would I need to downgrade to a slower clock ram? If not what other issues might be keeping any picture from showing up

Thanks!
