I'm planning to get a custom built but just cant decide between the z370 and b360 to go with my i7-8700 as I have zero knowledge on motherboards. Ugh.

CPU : Intel® Core™ i7-8700 Coffee Lake 6 Core Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.6 GHz)

Graphics Card : NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5

RAM: 2x8 gb dual, 2666

I want to know if:

1) Are there any compatibility /performance diifferences /heating issues when choosing either the B360 or Z370 to go with the i7-8700? I heard of something about turbo frequencies... but I'm not sure what's that about..

2) What other features can I benefit from the Z370 over the B360, or vice versa?

Price is not an issue in this case.

Solution
1) No, none that should be of any concern when using a locked 8700. Any H370, B360, or Z370 mobo will support that system just fine and all perform about the same. Motherboards don't really affect performance unless you buy a mobo and cpu that support overclocking and overclock.

2) CPU overclocking if you had an unlocked cpu, ram overclocking past 2666mhz, more chipset pcie lanes, support for sli, etc. More info in the link below. With your system a B360 or H370 board should be fine.

If price is not an issue then go ahead and buy the most expensive motherboard there is and go ahead and get an 8086k , 4000mhz ram kit, and 1080 ti. Thats what I would do if "price is not an issue". But of course it always is...
