USB controller doesn't work anymore

Greetings,

I purchased a Redragon Saturn USB controller about a month ago. Tried playing it on my HP Laptop the same day and it worked like a charm, simply plugged it in the USB port and played. It's been sitting on my desk for around a month now, and when I tried it again, it no longer works.
I noticed an installation disk in the box, and installed the drivers, but as far as I read up, they aren't needed for the controller to work (like I said, it worked the first time I plugged it in, prior to any installation).
The weird thing is that the controller lights up, the laptop recognises it under "Devices and printers" as "PS3/PC Wired Gamepad" and testing it in the same menu works perfectly fine; yet when I load up any game (tried it with Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition; Furi; Dead Cells) it only responds to the "Press any button" prompt and nothing else.
In the case of Dark Souls my character would just move in one direction and nothing else responded.
I've never really used controllers in my life until recently, so it might be a mistake on my end. I haven't had any luck googling the issue, so any help here would be GREATLY aprecciated.

Thanks in advance, Uzi.

Solution
If it worked fine then stopped, it's likely bad. Test it in another system, if it does the same thing there, contact support to get it replaced.
