Solution
Sorry, didn't see that earlier post about you disconnecting the battery. Then I guess it is possible that there is a cmos battery. Or maybe the main battery needs to be disconnected for a longer amount of time. The cmos battery could be hidden on the other side of that mobo. Did you check youtube? we'll see if we can find a service manual or video.
If you are lucky, it can be accessed under one of the removable panels for other devices on the bottom of the laptop like wireless adaptor or ram, etc. If not, you might have to do an extensive disassembly -- and it may even require (de)soldering. I would try googling the exact model number of your pavilion along with service manual like this example: dv3510nr service manual
Then you can find out where it is. You might even find a disassembly video on youtube for your laptop.

Thanks for the answers.
I tried to remove the battery to perform a hard reset, but it did nothing. The model i got is completely different from the v000 , mine is a 14 bf-015nd.
and i have not been able able to find any video or user manual for the exact same model i got.

Hmmm. Is the main laptop battery removable? If it is not supposed to come out, then I think they may have eliminated the cmos battery because the mobo is always powered by the main battery (to preserve the date/time settings, which is the whole point of a cmos battery in a computer). So, try to disconnect your main battery and see if that works. I'll keep looking around for more answers...
