Solution
-DL the latest video drivers from nvidia's site.
-disconnect Cat5 (internet) cable, (to assure Windows doesn't install any drivers)

-restart and install the vid drivers u DLed,
-select custom install,

It is easy to want to connect all peripherals with a new MOBO, but don't.
Fallow the following recipe:
when properly re-installing OS when changing a motherboard; be sure to only connect one hard drive, KB, mouse and monitor, but no other peripherals. Then, after a successful restart, shutdown and connect one additional peripheral then restart and install necessary drivers for it. Then shut down and continue adding one peripheral at a time.
