was watching a blueray rip today and noticed it glitching quite heavily, as if it were failing to keep up between buffers. did a crystal mark and got 90MB/s sequential and 0.4 on all subsequent read/write tests. suspecting drivers i updated all of them however my HDD driver is still from 06 (generaic microsoft). my drive is a 1TB segate platter.

my SSD is well over 3.2GB/s and 1.1GB/s random so thats working great but my storage drive is failing hard. its recently defraged and passed all diagnostics.

intel 100 series chipset wtih 7700hq on the dell laptop here.

600kb/s randoms is terrible and i need to get this up so i can watch HD movies off this drive.

Solution
It is a bit slower but that's because you are 78% used. It's still normal hdd speeds. Movies are sequential not 4k. Check usages as windows could be doing something but the hdd performance is not the issue.
