Okay so my corsair spec 01(https://imgur.com/mFk7w7S) has 2 fan slots in the front and the HDD tower right in front of it.

So my smart ass thought, because i dont have any DVD writer installed, lets use that space to keep my single HDD that i use, so that i can remove the whole HDD storage tower, thus improving air flow as nothing will be restricting the lower fan. (https://imgur.com/wZ29xEY). The HDD is kept in place in the DVD slot with the help of a single screw placed at the bottom of the HDD, it does not move at all, unless a light force is used, and my cabinet is placed in a very stable place, so the HDD does not physically shake/move at all. Also, because of its positioning, HDD gets no air flow at all.

Im a total newbie learnt everything about PC building from you guys here. Please tell me things that I should be aware of, because i do feel my HDD is holding my PC performance back.

I dont know if thats how its suppose to be because everyone suggests me to get an SSD asap. My Pc really feels slow to have these components (no holdbacks in gaming though):

i5 8400

8gb vengence

1060 6gb

Solution
the drive should not need massive airflow, it is basically a heatsink in and of itself. as long as the drive is secured you should be fine.
