I have been away for the last week, but before I left I got a BSOD before an update. When I got back it did it again. After restarting it ran like normal; however the third time it did it my HDD disappeared. I then disconnected it and re-connected it, it is now showing up with a blue question mark and I cannot access it. I had my last HDD fail on me 6 months ago, I didn't mind buying a new one as I had it for a good few years. I have taken the HDD bay out of my computer and I use a bracket to attach it to my DVD bay, I am thinking this may be the reason that they are failing. Any help on recovering the drive to at least copy everything over? Thanks.

If you cannot access it when installing it as a secondary drive, then the only option is to pay loads of $ to get a professional recovery company to recover the data for you. But that is really expensive and generally not something any normal consumer are willing to pay.

As it is a spinning disk I wasn't sure if having it in there would cause it to rattle. It is WD so they offer a 2 year warranty, but I don't want to lose 2TB of data.
