Hi, so I took an old HP pro 3010 and changed the GPU,PSU,CPU.. The CPU was last thing to get changed.
The computer worked fine until changing from core 2 duo (E7500) to Core 2 quad(Q9505) then after turning on I got no video signal and 1 short beep followed by long beep in a loop.
I thought I'd done something wrong with Cpu but after removing the 2gb stick of ram it switched on fine. The Mobo came with 2x1gb +1x2gb Ram (4gb in all) I'd really like to get all dimms working not just the 2x1gb modules.
Someone else had similar issue with the same mobo Ipiel LA3 Any ideas guys? CHEERS)))

Solution
You could also try tweaking the memory settings (speed, timings) in the BIOS to see if you can get it to post. If not, you could just buy a new kit of compatible RAM.

fixed it! thx for responses!
it's strange how after changing cpu to quad that the motherboard no longer supported 2gb dimms however I got it up to 4 x 1gb dimms without any compatibility issues by keeping them all exactly the same. so at least it's enough for this budget gaming build.
