Seatools Erase Fails, Windows Install Format Fails, Dead HDD?

I've recently built a PC from a combination of old and new parts, including a Seagate 1TB SATA HDD that had originally been bought ~5-6 years ago as an external drive, and have been plagued with intermittent HDD issues from the start.

Originally it was just not recognising the drive on boot up sometimes, and that was solved with a BIOS update and fiddling with some settings.

Yesterday, after the PC hanged and I had to restart, it was now saying it couldn't read the disk. So after a few more tries, checking BIOS and a failed Windows repair, I use the Seatools Bootable I'd downloaded during the original issues to try and see what's going on.

It passed the SMART test and the Short DST fine, but failed the Short Generic instantly and the Long Generic after finding 50 LBA errors.

Fix All Fast and Slow both failed, and I was unable to do a full erase. I also tried erasing blocks of LBAs at a time using the range function, but this failed when any number higher than 2500 was entered. I also tried formatting as part of a new Windows install, but that failed too, and it won't let me do a fresh install at all.

Is the HDD dead? I'm not worried about data as all the important stuff is cloud stored anyway, but as I've got a 14-month-old I'd always prefer to avoid unplanned spending 'cause kids are expensive!
