Lost in the GPU world

So the hdmi on the GPU dosent work, the hdmi on the MB doesn't work, that the computer won't find the GPU.
My first thought was a bad GPU, but the I switched it out with my gtx 970 and this computer won't find that GPU ether.
Now I'm leaning towards broken MB, any one agrees?

Full specs?

Other possibilities: both graphics cards are faulty (unlikely but still possible); the cable you are using is faulty (possible assuming you've used it for all instances); PCIe slot is faulty (possible, best to test other known good slots or motherboard); BIOS settings (unlikely but worth a check); PSU doesn't supply enough power (possible depending on wattage).

It's a gtx 760, needs to power cables, only got one on my original computer for my gtx970.

Tried my gtx970 with both cables used on the one with possible broken MB and still got no signal from my card. So I don't think the 760 is broken.
There is uncertainty only one PCI slot
Already tried changing on the settings in bios, nothing happened
It's never bin a problem until recently, the screen went all colorfull and then did a reboot, after that the GPU was missing in speccy and as a alternative grafick source

Specs are
Cpu: I7 4790 3.60ghz
16bg ram
Mb: ASRock h97 pro4
Gpu: FTC msi 760
600w power supply

Do you have another computer to test the graphics card? If you do you could try the other system (perhaps also the PSU) to see if they work there.

Have you tried connecting the motherboard's ports to the display while the graphics card is installed? Thought is, if it isn't being seen by the system then it may display via the integrated graphics and you could use it to enter Windows for gather further info.

Not without picking my main computer apart to plug in another PCI cable, my gtx970 only needs one pci cable, but the gtx 760 needs 2 pci cable's. Same for the cpu, but the computer runs fine, the only problem is getting a display from the hdmi in general from the computer.

I've tried that too, but nothing. It's like the pci slot in the mb is dead

Hm... reading back is the HDMI cable you use working properly?

If I were troubleshooting my PC I would want confirmation of the GTX 760 working. This way it would indicate something about the (original thought) of something being wrong with the motherboard.

That you mention the screen being colourful may indicate a graphics card problem (possibly dying).

Its definitely a start, but really unlucky I guess. Shocking the MB and GPU at once :/
And for the record the Hdmi was brand new out for the package, so it was working, as you saw it is working with the new MB

Thx for the help anyways :D
