Hello! Have a recent build that went perfect except my power supply choice was a little on the cheap end and I was getting very annoying and loud coil whine. I decided to RMA that psu and buy a new much better one. I just got the new PSU yesterday, a 1000 Platinum EVGA. Install went well, computer booted and ran perfect on the first try. Came back to it a few hours later and it had put itself to sleep. Used the keyboard to wake and it fired up the components but never came back on screen. I hard reset the machine and now it will not post. Power will turn on everything including motherboard to a degree, motherboard gives random errors. I double checked all connections and even swapped out the psu for the old one and it still does the same thing. To me it appears the CPU is toast but how? Was it just random chance? Am I missing something? This one is just slightly out of my realm of comprehension and I want to make sure I only replace the component that failed be it CPU or Motherboard and if the PSU some how killed either. Pleas help!
