Hey,

After looking through an e-waste drop off point (I got permission to), I found a Mitel 5330 IP Phone there. I took it, as it was the highest end model of the lot there, which were all Mitel 5320's (besides this one). I was wondering if I would be able to use it just on its own? If I plugged it into my PC, could I get it working, or could I talk to my telco and they could hook up a landline? What plugs would I need? I was looking at starting a business out of home and this phone would be better then having my mobile overloaded with messages. Also, what is the little Plantronics accessory on this phone? Its an attachment becuse its actually stuck on there, but I would like to be able to make use of it.

Thanks

Darcy

VoIP phones are worth nothing without a service. You can plug it into your router for sure, but you will need a VoIP provider to get SIP account, and phone number.

You can play with it by installing local VoIP exchange like Asterisk in order to get a dial tone.
