I was just wondering when we will see the lowest prices for Nvidia's 10 series of GPU's. Will I have to wait till September 20th to get the best prices for a 1080?

There might be sales leading up to the 20xx launch dates, there might not.

Retailers behave differently. Ultimately, they've all spend $X to acquire the product in the first place - markup isn't huge by any means.
One retailer may look to recoup what they can, while they can - before the product is deemed "obsolete".
Another retailer may continue to price it at $X that they paid for it + their standard % markup.

FWIW, 20xx cards will likely be in short supply at launch - and especially on the lower end 2050, 2060 etc are still months out.
So there's still going to be a market for the 10xx cards. The launch of 20xx cards will not result in a fire sale on all "prior gen" cards..... at least, not for a while.

So there's still going to be a market for the 10xx cards. The launch of 20xx cards will not result in a fire sale on all "prior gen" cards..... at least, not for a while.

You'll almost certainly have to wait months beyond September 20th for the lowest price on a 1080, but there's a fine balance. There will be a limited window where prices come down a bit, before they fall into "new, old stock" territory.

I just thought since Nvidia said that the 2070 has better performance than the Titan at a fraction of its price that the Titan and all the 10 series cards would get a large reduction in price. Like why would someone buy a Titan for $1200 when they could buy a better performing card for $400?

1. IF a "better performing card" is available for $400. Even talking hypotheticals, if the new $400 best is in high demand/short supply, or happens to give a great return in mining or whatever..... it doesn't matter that you *could* get better performance, if you can't actually get ahold of a given card.

2. Retailers have $X amount into a given product. Some will hold out, hoping they can get their money back + profit.
For example, he's BestBuy still selling a GT710 for $55.

That's the upper-end of MSRP, for a card that launched in early 2016 and really served no purpose even then.

Imagine that, but amplified, for a card that's actually still somewhat relevant.
