Hi all!
I recently ordered a PC37X, which are a huge improvement over my RIG500e set I have right now, but I am a little concerned about how well my ALC887 integrated audio will drive the PC37s. I know that the onboard will drive them, but I believe that the 887 will hold them back in sound quality. My mother board is a B150M-HDS, so I'd have to assume the audio implementation is pretty bad(~$50 mobo).
I am into fairly competitive gaming(Siege, CS) and looking to gain an audio edge better than what I get with my RIG and I'm wondering which of these sound cards I should buy, or if there are better choices out there.
What I'm currently looking at are:
-E10k
-SB Omni
-Xonar u5
-Xonar u7
I cannot use an internal solution as my lone PCI-E x1 slot is occupied by a wireless network adaptor.
Also, on a side note, this is probably a stupid question, but is there any way to turn my one PCI-E x1 slot into 2?
A double adaptor, or USB to PCI-E, or something(yea, I know I sound stupid)?
Thanks in advance guys!
