I have one Cooler Master 690 ii advanced
AX850 PSU
128 Ssd M4
2 TB disk
and I'm getting
Intel Core i7 8700K LGA1151 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 SDRAM DIMM
Corsair Hydro Series H60 2018
MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC LGA1151 Socket ATX
MSI Gtx 1080 Ti Gaming X
Would this be a good config and all compatible?

Yeah, the 1080Ti is looking pretty good right now with the current pricing. RTX prices are exactly what I predicted for the 2080, didn't expect the 2080Ti to be released this soon though.

If you aren't overclocking, consider the i7-8700 or i5-8400. Would get you about 90% the FPS of the i7-8700k. Could then also drop down to an H or B class board.

For $60 there is also the Cooler Master LiqTech ML240L. That is a 240mm cooler. BeQuiet Dark Rock 3, Cryorig H5 Ultimate/Universal as well. If you want longevity air coolers are the way to go.

Sure, might want to wait for the RTX graphics cards to be released here in a few weeks and get one of those instead.

I would also recommend a more powerful CPU cooler. H60 is on par with much cheaper air coolers. If you want water cooling, think h100i and up. The i7-8700k can run quite warm.

I got the MSI Gtx 1080 Ti Gaming X at less than half the price of the RTX 2080 TI and 1 third less than RTX 2080 price. That price doesn't make up for the difference in performance of the new cards.
The H60 2018 is about same price of the equivalent performing aircoolers and it's less noisy. I'm not planing to overclock. Do i still need H100i if i just play games and no overclock?
