My ASUS network adapter keeps randomly disconnecting?

Hello!
So seems like there is an issue with my network adapter because i've tested it on 2 computers and the same thing occurs.

The problem: My ASUS USB-AC56 network adapter just decides to disconnect at the most random times. Ie. Some days I'll have internet for 2 days and other days it'll disconnect multiple times in a day.

The only way I can regain internet activity is if I:
1) Restart the computer
2) Unplug the adapter and replug it back in various times until finally the connection sticks

Obviously this isn't solving the issue because its continuing on - sort of a vicious cycle.
Does anyone know how to solve such a thing or is my adapter just trash?

Thanks!

Before you wirelessly connect carefully feel the USB adapter. Get a sense of how warm or hot it is. Should be room temperature if not used for awhile.

Then connect as usual. However, keep carefully checking the adapter by feel. See if it gets very warm or even hot.

Good sign that the adapter has reached EOL (End of Life) and needs to be replaced.

You can also try putting the USB adapter on the end of an USB extension cable. Move the adapter up and about. May improve reception/transmission and provide cooler air around it.
