I have a Ryzen 3 1200, GTX 1060 3 Gb on an ASRock AB350 Pro4 with 16 GB DDR4 @ 2933 MHz (Crucial Ballistix) . I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to a better CPU performance-wise (I primarily use the PC for gaming) and if so, which one should I buy and is the performance increase worth the upgrade?

Solution
I would think a ryzen 1200 would be able to fully make use of a 1060 3gb in most games, if that is the case then upgrading the cpu would do little to nothing in terms of improving performance.

You can verify this by looking at gpu useage while playing a game with vsync off, if gpu useage is at or near 100% while in game then upgrading the cpu likely wont do much.

If u prefer to game around 60fps i dont think u need a cpu upgrade because 1200 can do over 60fps in most games but if u game at high fps a better cpu is needed but you will have to get better gpu too then if u want high resolution and settings too
