Any near future RAM upgrades improvements? Or should I just buy now.

(I know little about RAM)

It seems like every time I buy something computer related the new thing comes out a couple months later.
RAM seems like a pretty slow thing to upgrade, so is there any consumer level upgrades or breakthroughs happening, like DDR5 or _nm whatever in the works? Also I am aware these sticks below are on the Samsung B-die which I hear is good but don't really understand why...

I found 16gb of G.skill Ripjaws 3200 Cas 14 for $180 on amazon and am about to hit buy. Seems like a great deal but I am not upgrading the rest of my system until early 2019, should I wait? Currently I can only run it at 2133 hz.

I am aware RAM prices may drop up to 25% in 2019 but seeing as that is already 25% off the long standing price I figure why not snag em just in case those Trump Tariffs hit components..

I do not think anything really new for memory is on the horizon. The 16GB of memory you listed looks really nice but sort of pricey.

One thing about computer RAM you might want to consider is that it goes on sale REGULARLY. Just stop by Newegg, Amazon or wherever daily and check their deals each day. After about a week and a half of checking you will probably find a awesome deal on something.
