Solution

I just ordered myself a brand new Zotac 1070 8GB off Amazon for £379.99

In research I discovered it is the current standard for 1440p gaming. So with me using a 1080p HDTV I figured it would safely give me 3 years of 1080p. The 2070/2080 is for 4k gaming and has over-inflated prices for what is being sold. If you specifically need 60+ fps at 4k...

Definitely would wait for the RTX. If you're patient unlike me, I would wait for the companies such as ASUS or EVEGA to start making upgrades to these GPUs. (My recommendation: Don't get founders edition)

Im my country the price of rtx 2080 is 20000000 rial!!!so for you buy rtx is so easy but in my country a teacher like me, should work hard for many years to buy just a graphic card !!

what monitor are you upgrading too? the 1070 is still very powerful and can easily handle 1440p@60 or 1080@144. if you are aiming for 1440p@100hz or higher then you might want to wait. but i can tell you my 980ti(which is roughly equal to the 1070) games pretty darn good at 3440x1440@100hz. of course i would like to upgrade, but it is still a very enjoyable gaming experience.

:l you do got a point. if it was an ex-mining gpu im done. Guess ill just go for the rtx lineup IF they did show legit benchmarks for it.

no way im going for founder. maybe im going for zotac?. but the price will skyrocket for additional 1-2k for those brand's LOL.

Maybe going for BennyQ (BenQ) EX3200R. not gonna use dual monitor setup now.

If not wait until the next generation are released as RTX is too new. It will take a couple of years for real time ray tracing to become the norm and by then the 21** series will be out.

Also 4k is a waste of time unless you get a screen above 40 inches as your eyes wont notice any difference at lower resolutions. The 2 million colour cones in your eyes arent enough to see 8 million small pixels so there is no visual difference for you unless you get a large screen.
