Gigabyte H310 Motherboard & GPU issue

I am having an issue with my H310 motherboard and using graphics cards and I can't quite find an answer.

The issue:

When I plug my monitor into the GPU (Sapphire 7950), the computer beeps five times and will not boot. Strangely, booting the machine without any monitor connected also causes 5 beeps.

Things I've tried:

- I used a NVidia 560Ti - same issue.
- I tried a 1050Ti worked fine
- I tried two different power packs
- I installed the 7950 on a different machine - it worked fine
- It works if I unplug the GPU and plug the monitor into the motherboard
- Installed the drivers for the GPU - the computer can see the GPU on device manager - still will not boot when plugging the monitor into the GPU

The machine is otherwise fine: I have been using it for two weeks, playing games using the onboard 630 Intel graphics card. I know 5 beeps for this motherboard suggests a CPU issue but it seems not to be the case.

I've been looking for a solution all week and have turned up blank. Any ideas?

Thanks!
