When I'm playing games like csgo or overwatch or just flicking the mouse fast, it bugs out and stops moving or looks up or down. How do I fix it? I have a devastater 2 mouse. Is it a mouse problem or surface??

Solution
Mouse sensors have a maximum tracking speed usually given in inches per second.

Basically, the mouse is a digital camera that takes pictures one right after another. If you have moved so fast that nothing overlaps between two pictures, there is no way for the mouse to know which direction you moved.

Cooler Master seems to have no specs for their mouse besides 2000dpi and do not even list a sensor. Perhaps they are ashamed of it as it's just a cheap mouse they bundled with the keyboard. It does somewhat resemble their nice Inferno or Reaper mice which are rated 115 and 150 inches per second, respectively. That's worse than some of the benchmarks I linked to above, from 11 years ago.

Well, its Pixart PMW3366 is widely regarded as the best optical sensor available, it is rated for 400 inches per second and intended for gaming.

Other Logitech mice using the same sensor include the G903, G900, G703, G502, G403, and G303 if you'd like to try out different shapes.

I have a G502 and can tell you it never skips no matter how fast I move it. I got it because I needed a higher-DPI mouse for a 4k screen, but to be honest I don't like it as much as the old MX518-G400-G400s series I've been using for many years, probably because I am just used to those. They have much worse specs but have never skipped either.

I have used many optical mice that do skip if moved too quickly, but those were either intended for office use or very old--including the very first optical mouse from 1999: the Microsoft Intellimouse with IntelliEye v1.0.
