Would a MSI Radeon R7 240 2GB be better on my PC than my current AMD Radeon HD 6670 ?

I just got a deal on a Radeon R7 240 2GB thats used . Now while I do understand how computers work I am worried if im making the right choice . The price is 45 bucks and the original price of the card here is 150 bucks so it sounds pretty fair . But my main question is will it work on my pc or will it bottleneck it to oblivion ?
My current setup is:
Asus P5KPL-AM-SE
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
4GB of DDR2 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6670
500 Watt PSU (can't recall the mark its been ages since ive checked).
I do plan on changing the duo core to a Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Q9400 so do tell me if either of those cpu's are gonna work better than my current Core 2 Duo with the R7

Since you have a UEFI Bios you can run any card your case can support but anything more than a 980/1060 6gb would be wasted. Your HD 6670 is about the same as a R7 240 so $45 could be spent better as well as saving a bit more for some more punch.

Used Market " Not Ebay prices" US market

R7 260X $45-$50 / 750 Ti $50-$75 "These two are close to the same and more than double the performance you currently have"
RX 460 $60-$75
960 GTX/1050 GTX $80-$95
1050 ti $90-$120
970 GTX/1060 3gb $120-$140
980 GTX/1060 6gb $150-$175

Look here
https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap
Facebook Computer parts groups. Both of these are better places than eBay since prices are more current, you may get lucky and find something within driving distance even cheaper.

Now the thing is duo to various reasons I cannot own a credit/debit card (no I am not a convict or anything) . So I am limited to whatever I can find in my town thats relatively close to my budget . I looked up whatever I could find and I came up with an MSI GT630 4GB 128bit for 90 bucks and apparently a brand new AMD ATI Radeon R7 350 2GB for 100 (I am a bit suspicious about this because it says its brand new and it still has the packeging on it which leads me to wonder why would anyone sell it brand new ? If its something you don't need return it to the store) and finally I found a GeForce GTX 650 2GB for 95 . Are any of these choices better than the R7 240 ?

HD 6670 vs R7 240 is nearly the same unless you overclock them which still won't make much difference.

If I had to recommend a GPU, it would be a pre-owned GTX 750. Last time I checked eBay, it was about 50$ give or take depending on the brand. Good Luck finding it offline.

You could have someone else order it. I did it often as a kid.

Just a precaution, if you decide to buy anything "pre-owned", make sure you thoroughly test it. Most decent offers have 14+ days return.

If you are under the age of 18 then you either have to lie about your age or find someone over 18 that will make the purchase for you. Most towns I have seen will have someone that will buy/sell things for you on Ebay for a provided you pay them a litle more. If you are over the age of 18 then you have the option of PrePaid cards like Green dot through WalMart and secured cards through you bank. Most banks also have a method to pay directly to people outside their banking system, Zelle is one of those programs but there are others. Paypal is also the defualt option for online payments but you need a verified bank account and you can apply a prepaid or secured credit card as a backup.

A 630 GT Is slightly better than a HD 6670 but not worth $90 more like $30 at the most
A R7 350 and 650 GTX are both faster and worth around the $50 range, the 650 being the fastest but in Legacy driver mode.

Where is your Area "Zip Code" and are you willing to travel a little more? I might be able to find something you missed.

Will do . Thanks !

Roughly speaking, a 250/350 is about the same as an HD 7750. A 250x is about the same as an HD 7770. The GTX 650 is about the same as a GT 740. All these should be DDR5 cards only, no DDR3.

So I would look around for any of these and buy the least expensive one. A 750 or 750 Ti would be nicer, but more expensive most likely.
