sd card showing damaged but files are accessible

hello all i am facing a strange problem on my andriod phone (Honor 6x). i am using a scandisk sd card as default storage. yesterday my phone hanged pretty badly and rebooted automatically which is common on honor phones. Today my notification bar is showing sd card damaged, replace sd card. but when i open files i can clearly see the 7.77gb free out of 29.6 gb and the files are accessible too i can copy them but i cannot copy or put new files in sd card. what is the problem here can anybody please explain it to me :(

Likely the card has developed bad sectors. You're very lucky that Android caught the issue before the card failed completely (which it will soon). Backup your data on the card if you don't already have a backup.

Ohkay! thanks for the input but something weird happened i would like you to know.when i tried to format sd card using sd card adapter it is working absoluty fine!...like making new files deletion even the copying isn't hanging at all.so i backedup all the files first and i thought maybe my phone has the problem and put the sd card in a different phone but the problem persisted!..so i am confused is the sd card damaged or not?
secondly from all of this happening i am thinking can sd card adaptor prove to way of backing up data from a sd card damaged beuase of andriod phone?
