CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
MB: Gigabyte Aorus B450 WIFI (Bios v F2: latest)
Memory: 2 * 8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 RGB
GPU: Sapphire RX 480

The issue I'm having is 2 fold:

1) When I try to use the XMP profile in UEFI it recognizes the memory as 3000mhz. The machine boots but crashes. When I move away from XMP it defaults 2133mhz. Before I upgraded my CPU / MB I was only able to get the memory up to 2600mhz manually as the XMP didn't work at all. Should I take the same approach?

2) iCue isn't picking up my memory at all. I am not able to change the RGB settings and the memory just glows orange all the time. Any idead why this is the case?

Thanks in advance. I have looked online but with this being a relatively new board there's not much around,

Jim.

Guys,

I carried on looking in to this and I will continue. What I found last night was that according to the part number displayed in CPU-Z and the memory compatibility list, the memory I have is for single channel only. I need to confirm this by actually checking the modules and asking Corsair. I bought a matched pair so I'm puzzled why this happened. Needless to say if this proves to be the case I will be looking to get a refund straight away and get them replaced. I will post what I find,

Jim.

So I got my questions answered (sort of) by both Corsair and Gigabyte support. Corsair support told me that their iCue software is currently not able to control the RGB lights on memory modules when used on a B450 motherboard. This was after uninstalling the software and also removing the Gigabyte software to avoid any conflict.

I also found that the chips (while supported by Gigabyte) are not showing in their own tuning software. Nor is it showing as having the XMP profile 2.0 available. I think we can safely say that we can put this down to early adoption and we should all be aware on this when looking to buy a B450 board. I'm still waiting for a final answer from but it will more than likely be an update is coming,

Jim.
