Hi all, I was in the middle of playing a game at night as I usually do, and my computer shut off. I tried to turn it on again after because my cpu is liquid cooled so I didn't think it was a heating issue. Nothing happened. I tried to change the plug on the psu. Still nothing. So I thought it was a psu problem and I picked up another one with still no luck. A few times the power went out which shut off my pc, but it hasn't happened in a long time. After putting in a new psu to test, I tried to power the PC on and I heard a click like it was trying to turn on and my cpu cooler like flcikered on then off then nothing.

I know its not the psu.
It makes me think it is a mobo problem. However, I can't be sure if it is that or another problem.

Specs:
16gb corsiar ram
I74770k
Msi z97 mobo
Gtx 970 ftw
Evga 850w psu
Edit:
I started doing the whole method of slowly taking thinks out and seeing if the pc starts turns out that when I take the gpu out the pc starts. Does that mean my gpu is dead or can it mean anything else.
Im getting more and more confident that it is a gpu issue. Ever since I took it out I was able to get to windows without a gpu.

Is it possible that the pcie ports are dead or is that not possible without the rest of the mobo being the sam way?

Solution
Yes, I have found that the problem was a dead GPU. I borrowed a friends old GPU and the PC started with no problems. So, I will most likely get a GTX 1070 as a replacement since I won't be able to play the games I want to with the GPU I currently have from my friend.
