Dell XPS 8300 and AMD Radeon HD 6670

I recently upgraded my Dell XPS 8300 (shipped around 2011 with an AMD RAdeon HD 6670) to use a new SSD and HD, and put a fresh copy of Windows 10 on. The machine would boot to a blank screen (no POST nor display) until we removed the AMD card and used the onboard graphics (it had been working the day before on the original HD). The AMD card works in other machines, but when inserted back into the Dell XPS the machine will boot to a blank screen once more. Any suggestions?

Greatly appreciated.

I can tell you what is the real problem is, but it is extremely difficult to fix it.

The problem is with BIOS, both PC and the GPU.

XPS 8300 is the last model shipped with Legacy BIOS (I am dealing with problem in the other thread), and there is no UEFI BIOS exists for this XPS.
Your Radeon comes with either Legacy or UEFI, if there is incompatibility between XPS 8300 BIOS and AMD GPU BIOS, there is a problem you are experiencing right now, you are not the first one - there are too many of cases like this all over Dell community Forum.
Some AMD GPUs of that time were coming with BIOS switch, those cards could work with type either type of BIOS, the ones which don't have a switch are the troubled ones.

What is the model of yours...

Not insulting at all :) I've tried connecting the monitor to the card directly, which still yielded a blank screen, connecting to the onboard ports (which gave a message that another card was detected), and removing the additional card and connecting to the onboard, which worked. A technician helped me test with other cards, same result (I called in a couple of techs as owing to a physical disability I have I am unable to install hardware on my own).

A co-worker from my office (IT) suggested that he had a very similar problem and that installing the driver resolved the issue, even though the PC never displayed the BIOS nor POST. I plan to try this soon, with help.

Thanks for the suggestions and advice :).

What is the model of yours? Inspect the card on edges, do you see anything looking like a switch?
