hello guys,
i overlclocked my ryzen 2400g to 4ghz with 1.4v and it boots fine to windows but when i run cinebench it fully freezes my pc and mouse and keyboard becomes off(no lights).i dont know whats wrong with it.its a hardware or driver issue and as well *i only have single channel ram..is that the problem?
spec:ryzen 2400g,msi b450 tomhwak mobo,8gb single channel ram,win 10 pro..plzz help me i am worried.

bro but its complete first time and at second time it freeze that why i am confuaing what is the problem behind it.is it ram?
i used 2400mhz gskill ripjaws v ram and i used 1.4v on vcore.i think that enough.cooling with cooler master h410r.plzz tell me what the problem behind it..it confusing.before i have msi b350 pro vdh mobo and i replace it with b450 tomhwak.pro vdh needs more volts that tomhawk to get stable on pro vdh i hit 3.9 on 1.4375v and now with tomhwak it only needs 1.4000 and as well my pc case has no rear cooling fan..only front 2 fans.i dont know what to do..

install a monitoring app like hwinfo64 to check temperatures and voltages while you run R15

run memtest86 to check for defective ram

h410r isn't a heavy duty cooler so you may have temperature problem

I’ve had issues similar to yours and it was usually a stability problem with overclock. Either voltage weren’t enough (most likely caused by vdroop) which was usually solved by raising LLC level and/or manual voltage increase.

r15 makes your cpu run full load on all cores. If temperature isn’t an issue then you can try increase vcore a little bit to see if that solves it

Sometimes ram needs a bit more voltage or loosen timing

Single channel ram is slower , that’s about it. You’ll get a higher R15 score if you use dual channel ram tho. The benchmark is quite sensitive to memory bandwidth and cpu frequency.

Try asus realbench , run the heavy multitasking benchmark test , see if it freezes your pc

i tested on aida 64 no problem run fine with cpu stability test and then back to cinebench it causes the problem some time it conplete on one run and then on second freez and sometimes it freezes on first attemps.

If you started failing Cinebench after CPU OC, It's usually unstable CPU OC. Don't blame the RAM If you're concerned, use memtest64 without OC to rule out faulty RAM.

0. Update BIOS

1. Disable power saving. like Cool'n'Quiet.

2. Adjust your voltages. Use Higher LLC (Load Line Calibration) if needed.

2400g to 4ghz with 1.4v
Some have used less (1.35v), others have more (1.45v). Each chip behaves differently. Going into more advanced setting might help, but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

Keep temps below 90c. It throttles at 105c.

but my 2400g stable on 1.45v at 3.95ghz and sometimes it fully complete one cinebench on second time it freeze.why it cant freezing first time.is it any psu problems i am using corsair vs 450.

450 should be plenty to power your 2400g and a nvidia mid-range graphics card.

I've done a bit of tinkering with OC so I can attest your problem is not uncommon. Like others said here, it comes down to unstable OC. The CPU/RAM is either not getting enough voltage or the voltage isn't stable. Google "vdroop" and do some readings on it to help you understand.

it isn't just voltage to your cpu, you'll also need to up voltage to ram, memory controller, etc. as you increase your cpu's overclock. the related components must marginally increase power consumption. just be careful not to overvolt anything.

To answer your other question, yes using dual channel memory doesn't hurt and can only improve your system performance, by a lot. there is a big difference going from single channel to dual channel ram, so you probably should buy that second stick anyways.

i have ryzen 1600x @ 4.1 ghz all cores with 1.375v with stress test it hits 185watts (cpu+soc) like nothing, so u may be not that far away from me as u giving it more voltage than me

either your VRM cant keep up, or you PSU is not feeding enough AMPs on 12v rail

b450 is fairly new so this might just be a glitch that can be fixed by a bios update

that board has a 4+2 six phase vrm, not exactly a big overclocker, so I wouldn't expect spectacular performance out of it

try to run hwinfo64 and select sensors only, then in bottom right corner there is icon button with start logging. press it, select where to save those logs and open cinebench, if it doesnt freezes, once done, stop logging and upload it somewhere and link it here

Your vcore dropped a bit during full load but it wasn't that bad.

try to raise SoC voltage a little bit but not too much.

Whats brand and SKU of RAM module do you have? they're drawing ~1.2V @ 2400, you could try to up the RAM voltage a bit to see if that helps.
