Hey guys I am going to be getting a gaming pc and I don't know if I shoud get i5 8400 with gtx 1060 3gb or Ryzen 5 2400g with gtx 1060 6gb.

Solution
If gaming is a significant concern, then I wouldn't recommend a GPU with less than 4GB of VRAM since a growing number of games require at least that much to run well even at medium details. IMO, the 3GB GTX1060 should be a no-go. I'd save for a little while longer and get either Ryzen 2600 or i5-8400 and a 6GB GTX1060. If you get the 3GB version, you may end up wishing to replace it much earlier than expected due to games running out of VRAM and having to fall back on the much slower system memory.

if you want to just game then getting a 6gb GTX will provide more benefit to you than a strong cpu would do.
if you want a balanced set up that can do some cpu intensive work then get the core i5 8400 and the 3gb gpu .
Cause the ryzen 5 2400g is a good cpu if you dont want a dedicated gpu against core i5. But if you have a strong gpu already then
it would be much better to get best among two cpus i.e. i5 8400.

Also did you mistype or is there any other problem as to why you cant get the 6gb gpu along with core i5 8400.
