Hello all, i have a HP 500B desktop (XP041EA#AB7) and i want to upgrade ram from 2gb to 4gb.

I've bought a ram kvr13n9s6/2 (https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/kvr13n9s6_2.pdf ) which i think it fits my pc according to this https://support.hp.com/sg-en/product/hp-500b-microtower-pc/4191793/model/4191794/document/c02512295#... .

The problem is that when i place it on the dimm and i switch on my pc i get a short and long deep. Isn't compatible? Should i do something on BIOS? Something i missing?

Thank you in advance

Solution
Other than forcing a BIOS reset, and perhaps giving the contacts of the RAM stick a clean, it might be that the RAM won't work. If you're mixing the old RAM and the new, test both in DIMM slot 1 individually.

Sometimes RAM won't mix.
