i5-8600k/rx580 8gb or ryzen 5 2600/ GTX 1070

I'm currently looking into building my first pc. I'm am stuck between these two builds, should I go with the cheaper r5 and get the 1070 or get the i5 with the rx580? I'm also unsure about my choice of mobos on both builds. I know I'll probably need to change the case due to size constraints, it's there more for price calculation purposes. Side note I have a 144hz 1080 monitor with freesync. I know the 580 supports freesync but the 1070 is supposedly a better card.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
You will get significantly higher framerates with the 1070 even though the i5 8600k is the better gaming CPU. The 580 does very well at 1080p and will still give you about 100 FPS in games like Battlefield 1 though. Plus the benefit of being able to use Freesync is huge. Now that I have had Gsync with my 1070 for a couple years I would never go back to a monitor that doesn’t support one of the adaptive sync technologies.

Only you can decide if better overall performance or Freesync support is more important to you. It’s worth looking through the benchmarks in this review so you can see some real world FPS numbers for both cards.

The watercooling you had is pretty bad, better get a decent air cooler than a lousy watercooling.
Also you had 750w psu, but it's way too much.
