[Moderator note: moved post to Storage.]

I have a WD 1TB hard drive that was fully working (showing up in BIOS, in Windows File Explorer or This PC and Disk Management) before. Now for some reason, I can't see it in windows and disk management, however, it shows up in the BIOS. I have zero idea what the problem is, I have tried switching the SATA connects to see if that will change anything; but it did not.

My Specs:

Asus Maximus IX Apex
I5 6600K
HyperX Fury 16 GB (2X8) @ 2133 MHz
Corsair H115i PRO
Strix GTX 1070 OC
Corsair HX 750i
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB
WDC WD10SPcX-00HWST0 1TB
WDC WD2003FZEX-00Z4SA0
Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 250
Windows 10 Pro

Now my system doesn't boot. Even if I manually select it in the boot override. When I try to boot it goes into windows automatic repair then it says select an account. Then I enter my password and then it says attempting to repair. It then says that automatic repair couldn't repair your PC. Log file: E://WINDOWS/System32/Logfiles/Srt/SrtTrail.txt

Now I tried booting into safe mode and it successful booted into windows. Now I restarted the computer and it worked fine again, but the problem was not fixed. Windows did not automatically reinstall the drivers. In addition, the hard drive is still not showing up (but it is recognised in the BIOS and device manager) but not in computer management.

This is what it says on Propertries> Events > Timestamp

Device SCSI\Disk&Ven_WDC&Prod_WD10SPCX-00HWST0\4&26e76114&1&020000 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

That error corresponds to a driver not loaded successfully, then looking closely at the details it's conflating the correct HDD driver with a USB flash drive.

There are reports of this kind of mismatch happening in Windows 10 for all kinds of devices, sometimes due to the aggressive way the OS updates drivers automatically.

If there's an option to roll back the driver (for the disk drive) try that, otherwise uninstall it and reload it (a reboot may not be needed, try refreshing the view in Device manager after uninstalling the HDD)

Otherwise, here are more suggestions:

Thing to appreciate is that the time runs/starts from top to bottom. The item you list is likely the description for the top item which says "device not migrated" at the top timestamp . What do the other two time stamp items below that one say ?
And under the general tab, what is the device status ?

The device status is 'This device is working properly'

I'm not clear on the order of the items. Forget the information box for now. Look at the two columns Timestamp and Description. as you look at them, can you just list the descriptions from TOP to Bottom and note the time (just seconds) for each, e.g.,
:34 device started
:34 device configured
:36 device not migrated.
etc

23: Device not migrated
23: Device configured (disk.inf)
23: Deviced started (disk)
36: Device deleted
23: Device not migrated
23: Device configured (disk.inf)
23: Device started (disk)

The drive goes from "not migrated" to "started". That's perfect. I have the same sequence of events on an SSD here with the same explanation for the first event, about partial or ambiguous match. The bottom line is it is started and here the SSD works well.

The kink with your drive is the deletion-but then windows re installs it-and , again, starts it. Both are noted to be in working order.

So I am skeptical that the deletion anomaly causes the omission from windows disk management/My PC.

Is it recognized anywhere in windows besides Dev Manager ?

If not I surmise the drive's gone rogue.

Yes, it does show up in This PC but it only shows that the drive only has 256MB of space free out of 256MB, when its actual capacity is 1TB. It does not show up in computer management.
