I have bars but no internet connection

I am using a Samsung GT -p1000 (gingerbread) and when I connect myself to the internet I have full bars, but when I use google or youtube they all say that "there was a problem with the network" or "No internet connection"
Please help!

power off your router and modem. restart the modem first and wait for it to be connected or online and then power on your router. if you find a reset button on your router dont press it because it will probably just erase your network password and any port forwarding you may have done
