Hello everyone who reads this.

As of yesterday afternoon (Around 3 pm uk time), I have come across an issue whenever I try to play a game in fullscreen on steam, after a few minutes the game will minimise to the desktop.

Yet I only just started posting this after doing some troubleshooting which sadly didn't help. No one has been using the pc before the issue started (I last used the pc around 11:30 am and the issue didn't occur and the pc has a password which only me and one other know who wasn't in for most of that day.)

I'll post the pc specs here if they are of help, although I'm certain that the drivers are all up-to-date.

Intel i3-8100
8 Gig ddr4 ram
Nvidia GTX 750 ti
Os: Windows 10 64bit

I have done the following steps before I decided to make a post.

1. I ran an sfc scan on the command prompt running as an administrator which shown no problems,

2. I checked the startup programmes and nothing was different from before the issue had started, I even tried exiting some of the programmes.

3. I downloaded a programme which someone on a similar thread had posted named "Advanced SystemCare 11" Which sadly didn't resolve the issue, but has helped clean some junk from my computer.

4. I tried a programme named "Window Focus Logger" To see what, or if a phantom programme was stealing the screen focus, yet, that showed nothing.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know and thank you all for taking the time to read this post.

Does not necessarily need to involve the keyboard.

Any programmed button, click, etc. that emulates the screen being minimalized via the applicable keyboard codes will minimalize the screen.

For example, the "WIN" key + an arrow key (Up, Down, Left, Right) will change the displays.

What may be happening might appear to be a minimalization but is something else. E.g. "WIN" + "Down arrow".

Figuring out which keys restore the screen to "normal" may provide a clue about what is actually happening.

And carefully watch the time. Determine if the time until minimalization is some constant value. Could therefore be elated to some energy saving mode. Or some app trying to "phone home" but there is some bug in code.

Test those other...

It seems no changes have occurred, however before I received a reply I tried the game in borderless and seemed not to run into any issues with minimising, yet I also done a virus scan not long ago with AVG which showed no threats.

On another note, I also use ds4windows for a few of my games so I don't really utilise my keyboard for games excluding a few which I haven't tested since this issue arose.

Test those other games.

Have no explanation per se about why the issue seems to stop with respect to borderless.

Not sure what else to suggest at this moment other than to keep testing and observing.
