Hi. I’m curious, how much will the overclocking (without changing the voltage or maybe slightly increasing it) effect the lifespan and performance of GTX 1050 Ti. Do you recommend overclocking it?
GTX 1050 Ti
i5 8400
16gb ram
650w 80+ bronze psu

Solution
without changing the voltage or maybe slightly increasing it
Shouldn't make a difference. 1050 Ti has locked voltage. You could use 100% without damaging it because it won't go above a certain number.
Do you recommend overclocking it?
Sure, why not? Unlike CPUs, it's far easier and safer.
Just thought if I could get more performance out of 1050 Ti without sacrificing much.
5-10% boost. 15% if you're lucky.
--------------------
If you need a guide:

0. Install MSI Afterburner
0. Download and run UNIGINE Valley on Ultra.

1. Max your power limit. (You PSU should have more than enough power)

2. Increase your core clock 25+ at a time while looking at UNIGINE benchmark till artifacts (weird lines and colors) appear or...
Graphics card vendors bin their chips and use the better ones in factory overclocked versions
that they can sell for more. You may be able to OC more, but then again, perhaps not.
They try to differentiate by adding cosmetics and fancy coolers which also sell for more.
I do think you get fair value from a modest factory overclocked card.
If you need more performance, they buy a higher tier card in the first place.

I don't bother to try.

I’m building this pc tomorrow and I don’t have more money to get a stronger gpu. Just thought if I could get more performance out of 1050 Ti without sacrificing much.

Example Core clock: +25 > ... > +150 > artifact > +125 > ... (Keep it 25 or more below max)

3. Do the same for Memory. (50 or more below max)

4. Save your profile.

5. Don't check apply overclocking at startup. You can check it after few days of testing.

Keep your temps below 80c/176F, if you go over it or stay near it., consider installing a fan on your case near the GPU. But I doubt a 1050 Ti could get that hot.

Thank you so much. And what do I do after overclocking? I mean if I don’t check the apply overclocking at startup, how do I turn on the overcklocked “mode” after I restart my pc?

Open MSI Afterburner > Select your profile if you saved it or input your numbers again > Apply

If it works without causing any problems for few days, you can check overclocking at startup. I don't play games every time my pc is turned on (movies, browsing, etc) so I only overclock before games.
