I've recently bought the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 720 as a day use machine and it has a m.2 PCIe expansion slot. After 2 weeks using the machine, I had to buy a Samsung 960 Evo 250gb to clone the traditional hard disk as the bootup speed was simply criminal. But the primary storage is filling up and I'm thinking to get a larger SSD to replace this.
Is there a limitation to what a M.2 slot can support? I've contacted Lenovo tech support to ask advice but was told that it only supports 256gb and a screenshot.

It feels more like different configurations option than limitation. Is the storage limit that the slot can support legit?
