I cant get Ram to work in the right DIMM slots

Hello. Ive just built a pc. I have 2 sticks of 8Gb G-skillz ram which will only work in the b1 and b2 slots. thus i can only get it registering single chanel. does any one have any ideas why?

I bought the ram together so it should be fine

Ive fixed it. i read on another post that it can cause problems screwing the back plate of the cpu fan in to tight. and sure enough i unscrewed it and as if by magic it worked.
